The Bridge of Dreams

The Bridge of Dreams

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Can any man say he is not beholding to Well from which life flows?

Passed away 4/20/ 2023

Coming to us no more but in dreams

those who passed on going their ways

While we who love them stay behind

to face a lifetime of empty days

____________________________________

In our dreams they cross the bridge

spanning breadth of time and space

There we meet again with them

to touch a well worn beloved face

___________________________________

Called to by the voice of St Peter

they can only stay a short while

But nothing better for the soul

than to walk and talk a mile

 _____________________________

We the heirs of their precious dreams

go forth to face the human race

Being all they had hoped we would

sharing with them this living grace

_________________________________

Skipping along meter by meter

we dance to life's endless tune

Singing and chanting around the fire

beneath the gaze of the Harvest Moon

___________________________________

Passing the dreams of each generation

onto the next souls in our line

We carry with us their undying love

for a life sweet, gentle and divine

I am sorry for your loss. The poem forms a great tribute to him.

I don't really know what to say...so young to be taken...and that picture just says it all. A towering gentleman accompanied by an angel less than one third of his size. Just having a simple conversation that all small children have...simple framed memory with mult-meanings. Prayers for you and your family...and with his family as well. I'm sure that he is humbled by your words and how much he truely is missed. :)

Nice... in it's way My Brother, as it holds your signature cadence and a beautiful theme Tate and always from the heart. The picture says a lot about a tough sort of guy with a heart for his child. Holds a definite message of faith and understanding. This cover of a great song... in what is a tragic circumstance so fitting. I had to read through a couple of times after the bottom part. A sad day in deed...

What a wonderful tribute; it brought tears to my eyes. And I love the song; so appropriate. It's very sad when someone dies so young. I knoe you will help fulfill his dreams for his child.

Tate, I am so sorry to hear of this loss for your family.
It is a beautiful and moving poem you have written here. One I hope will be some sort of comfort to your granddaughter in remembering her father when she reads this one day. For all involved, your family and his, I hope that soon you will not find the days feeling so empty, but start to fill them with his memory and all the things that made him the wonderful person you say he is.
Beautiful poem Tate.
I send my condolences.

This is a beautiful poem. You capture univresal feelings so well. There is, as always, a strong ring of truth in the things you say. The rhyme works perfectly, too, enhancing the spiritual force of the lines. But it is sad that a man of 32 is no more, tragic. The pic of him with his dau is beautiful one. She will look at that one day and read your lines with a tear in her eye. I think the lines will comfort her though, and others who have faced a similar loss as you write from the human heart. Sorry about your loss.

And thus the legacy of the human race stays alive. Its such a big responsibility Tate and most of us simply sleepwalk through it. What a brilliant piece and so very topical.
