Time

Time

A Poem by Sports Girl

You were with me from the beginning

Seconds slowly grew to minutes

Minutes began to turn to hours

Hours became days then turned to weeks

Weeks turned to months then to years

Seasons changed and you were still there

Tears fell from my face at each heart ache

Friends continued to come and go

Fears filled my mind with each passing day

Yet each direction I turned there you were

Wishes were swept to the sky

Dreams were filled every night

And feelings grew stronger by the hour

As the fairytale began stars shinned brighter

Smiles crossed our faces as we stood in front of each other

We were seeing each other for the first time

In your arms I feel protected and safe

With you everything is better

Our hearts now beat as one

Worry fills me as hope fills you

Love flows between us like a river

The time apart creates pain

Thoughts race like a wild fire around our minds

Hopes for the future begin to take root in us

Souls of two form to make one

The fears slowly escape my mind

As happiness is in our reach

And your still there right beside me

Holding my hand as we move down the path

As the time passes it becomes more precious

Moments shared together are priceless

And now

Once two alone are one together
