On my solid rock

A song of tears

As I lay on my solid rock

With a 1001 of your memories

Locked in between my eyes

And the door you closed behind,

To let in the shadow that took over my life.

 

I’m so tired of seeing your face in my dreams

Slow dancing in my pain

My solid rock won’t let me rest

Until I hear you say

 

My heart is bleeding in your lies

I cannot sleep on my solid rock tonight

Not until I see you weeping for me

When I already know you won’t

 

You confused me too much

To make me blind

So I won’t see the other side

Hidden by the light

 

When fears became tears

It was too late

Why don’t you speak?

Why won’t you cry?

 

Sorry is not the answer

To the wound that will never heal

That is a powerful poem. The imagery is vivid and takes hold of you from the very first line, and it doesn't let go even at the last line.
