Lost for Words

When your voice isn't loud enough there's always poetry!

The words come out

So wrong, so unclear.

They destroy.

Self destruct,

They injure, they maim.

I try to express,

But I don’t have the skill.

I’m lost in my mind,

and my mind can’t compute.

I try to cry out,

But then claim i’m okay.

These words,

They lie.

I cry but i cannot say,

I try!

I try!

These words,

they hide.

I’m lacking the knowledge,

communication and will.

I’m falling,

Fading and failing.

There’s just nothing to say.

There’s ears to listen,

But my voice can not speak.

This language i’m spewing,

Not one understands.

I’m lost in a world

where I just can’t find the words.

Many things are lost in translation. This one resonated with me and I guess everyone can apply a bit of this poem to themselves. When it comes right down to it, words are just meaningless sounds which people standardize to mean something when it sounds a particular way. Good write.

thank you very much. i have a serious communication problem when it comes to vocalizing my thoughts. they always seem to come out wrong. it's always baffeled me how I can express myself so easily through writing and not so much when i used my voice...

thank you very much. i think a lot of people, especially those of us who are more writer types have a problem with vocal communication. i myself spent so much spent behind books and with my pen and paper when i was a kid that I never really learned how to associate with others without my pen, and when i did i was very heavily picked on. i still have that problem today, just not as bad and I can get through it by talking to the nonjudgemental one on one and writing it down. don't let life get ya down. we're all just the same in different costumes and those of us who know that turn out stronger because of it.

thank you very much. i try my very best to communicate and it doesn't seem to work out except with those who truly accept me for the person that I am, but you are right...it's not always me that is the bad communicator.

Being misunderstood… I might have been there, once or twice, or a million times. The fear of being misunderstood is what makes many try to be something they are not.

thank you very much. i've been the sort who can communicate well through writing. i often wrote letters to people because i was so afraid to use my voice. now that i am trying to learn new things in my life i find it very difficult, but i'm also a firm believe in what doesn't kill you make you stronger :D
