Uncertainties

Uncertainties

A Poem by Summer Mendez

I believe that I'm looking over that sharp precipice.

And my fears will not abate.

Shall I fall head over heels?

Or take that uncertain step back...

What do any of us really know about love,

Except for that which we feel?

Perhaps I've already fallen.

Uncertain about what to do next.

The world disappears and all I see is him.

My heart skips a beat,

And I can't believe I've lived so long without him.

I'm scared,

But how could I be this lucky twice?

...I couldn't.
