Title Of My Heart

Title Of My Heart

A Poem by Shaun Payton

I dip this quill in ink
and feel it poke my heart,
and feel the moon, nobly
defending the tides of love.
My mind is a book,
if you touch it, close your eyes,
read the braille of my heart,
how it collapses and expands,
I imagine its a bridge between
the heart which speaks
the soul which loves
the mind which cherishes.
The powerful conceptions
divide my lips and unite all three,
the verse of eyes thy chest
has known,
the wild caged organ, the fire
of my silhouette,
swaying like candlelight,
To be devoured,
to be consumed,
to be, to be, the essences
which leave such an impression
they complete each breath
My mind is a book, she's in every chapter,
the title of my heart is her name.
