Sparkle

Sparkle

A Poem by T M Atkinson
"

For Nan

"
So you think that you must be fading out,
Because the colours they don't seem so bright.
All this time that we have been taking,
To be certain that you are alright.
Those guards that keep you safe and sound,
No harm will come to you.
And I'm sorry that I wasn't there,
To see what I put you through.
I would breathe the air for you,
And I would dream if you want me to,
I would bleed myself dry if I thought it would make you well.
To see you Sparkle once again,
I wish to see that Sparkle in your eyes again.

Everyday is like a series of moments,
Just to gather up my unfathomable pain.
All I see is you lying there a ghost,
A spirit, a face in the crowd.
But you'll always be a queen to me,
So please kindly come take your crown.
I would stand so close to you,
I would share my thoughts with you,
If you go I've made my peace with you and I think of you and smile.
To see you Sparkle once again,
I wish to see that Sparkle in your eyes again.
