The River

The River

A Poem by Audrey Murray
"

I wrote the poem at a retreat at the Lazy M Lodge ( in central Alberta) it was inspired in part by Richard's poem Beside the Pond and reflects my experience at the retreat

"

The River

the river asks come sit by me

in the afternoon sun

listen to the chickadees

chatter in the trees

it twists and turns across the land

so too my journey to the peace

and  understanding that heals

the river sings to me

I need only to bring an open heart

Yes, Audrey,
The open heart hears more, feels more, and understands more of all things as we sit on the bank to witness, enjoy, and learn all the river of life and love offers us, as it flows endlessly, ceaselessly, ever-beckoning, ever-luringly, evermore appealingly by … drawing us to dive-in and immerse our hopes, dreams, and fantasies, to flow together into life's greater sea.
It is when the textures, sounds, endless colors, and hues of Nature are combined that we are irresistibly woven into one another.

Well, M'Lady, you sure got me involved in your moments, but is this not what excellent poetry does to its captive reader?
Thank you, Dear Audrey, for sharing your lovely poetry, and for the honorable mention … warmest hugs 'n blessings to you! ⁓ Richard
