Doomsday comes once a week

Doomsday comes once a week

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda

From the bowels of the deep

Emerges chambers of horror

Not unlike that of eons before

Destined for savageness

Doom peers from the horizon beyond

Below wails the screams of the bacterial victims

Mercilessly the Destroyer viciously circles her wand

'Off with their heads'

"Mom? Are you okay?", two tiny faces peer around the corner of the bathroom door.

"Uh, yes, honey. I'm just....cleaning." I chuckle as I face the toilet once more.

I will never look at cleaning the toilet the same again! LOL I enjoyed how you took something so mundane as cleaning and made it fun and playful.

I love this piece. It shows that creativity can happen in the most unlikely of places. I can relate to this piece because as I do the mundane, my mind is the parade that keeps me entertained.

Nice work.

This is great. You took something banal, and a pain, and made it interesting and funny. Kudos!
