Emotional Time Bomb

Also for HE10b I loved the poetry unit. So much.

Tik-Tok, Tik-tok

The time is running out

For your sake

I hope you move fast

Because this bomb is about to go

 

Beep! Beep! Beep!

The countdown is fast

Five seconds, then four

It’s three and soon two

Now just one to get to safety

 

BOOM!

It explodes

My anger flood out

This bomb had a weak shell

It couldn’t hold up to the things I screamed

 

“Ahhh!” Everyone screams

All my feelings

Are flooding out

Those caught too close

Suffer the consequences

 

I gasp for air

I can hardly breathe

My anger is out

But now I’m choking

Prepare for another attack

 

Tik-tok, Tik-tok

This time

I pause the clock

This tear-filled bomb

Is one I won’t let go

 

A whistle fills the air

Like a balloon

Being let loose

This bomb was transformed

But it’s not over yet

 

Stomp. Stomp.

Everyone is returning

Tears begin to slide

Down my face they fall

And form a pool on the ground

Creak… Crack

My strength breaks

Self-control flies away

Now I’m sobbing

And couldn’t hurt you if I tried
