My bleeding heart

My bleeding heart

A Poem by beauitifulybroken

Tear stained cheeks

Your words slicing through my heart

I ripped out my heart for you

fingers stained with my blood

But still

I’m not good enough for your love

You express with the distance in your eyes

where you grimace when you used to smile

I remember when you used to laugh at my silliness

Now it’s a fault that’s exhausting

Something you can no longer handle

I watch you tolerate

What you used to love

I can feel you slipping through my fingers

And i no longer have the strength to pull you back

instead I'll take up my sliced up heart,

put in some temporary stitches

and hope it still beats when i put it back
