I Love You, Mam...

I Love You, Mam...

A Poem by WritersSoul
"

Every girl loves there mother/mum/mom/mam... We grew up loving them, we really dont want to let them go...

"
You gave me love and life,
Taught me everything I needed to know.
Was there for me when I scraped my knee,
And kissed my head or plastered my toe.

You picked me up from school,
Held you hand when we crossed the road.
I can still feel your warmth,
Your love is shiny and bold.

Remember the times I tried on your heels,
And walked around like I knew it all.
When put to bed you always knew how I loved a good story,
Buying me things and spoiling me with toys.

Can still hear the screams I made,
When I didn't get what I begged for.
You taught me that you only get treats when you behave,
So I did the opposite of what I did before.

You kissed my forehead when I went to sleep,
And was there for me in every school play.
I used to kiss you around friends when I didn't care,
Now I've grew up,
I still care today.

Reading me bedtime stories was the best time of day,
Now I sleep with my own imagination.
That you created for me,
You still cringe at the Bunny story that was your very own creation.

I now walk to school and back by myself,
No longer need your hand to hold.
I know the road like the back of my hand,
I always stop at the kirb,
Like I was forever told.

When I fall over now,
I get up and stand tall.
Even though it really hurts,
I act big like you,
'Cause you know it all.

I wear my own clothes,
I borrow from you,
Your glitzy braclets and earring pearls.
You always say,
'That's my baby girl.'

I never want to lose you,
You gave me the right to chose right and wrong.
You said theres always an answer to 'yes' and 'no',
I learnt a lot from you,
Don't you know?
'Cause mother,
I love you forever and I don't ever want to let you go.
