Footprints

Footprints

A Poem by Sarah

“Footprints”

There’s a certain way the sand looks in the morning.

A certain way the grass gleams when it’s wet.

A way your heart feels when you’ve been hurt.

And all you can see are the footprints that were left on your heart,

by someone you once loved.
