Still

Still

A Poem by Brenda Sue
"

There was a park across from the hospital where my late husband was.

"

Children playing in the park

Dogs chasing balls

As all the world grows dark

I watched my love die.

Layed him to rest.

Beneath the Green Sky.

Still children play in the park

Dogs chase balls

And the world goes on.

This one really shows how life around us go on while we suffer from great grief.
It's hard to comprehend how the world around us keeps spinning while a meteor just crashed into our heart.
But that's just the way it is in this world, and we have to accept that.
I hope this poem gave you that closure you needed.
Very touching and well written.

Peaceful and intense. I feel this and it's beautiful. The only thing I'd do is remove "had" in the fourth line -- for what that's worth. It's beautiful as it is.

Wow...this was good. Shows that life goes on. That one person hardly ever changes the world. It is actually rather dark once you start thinking about it. Thanks for entering my contest.
