I am for equality, always have been. Fortunately for me, I have never suffered in the work place or otherwise for being a woman. I have always been treated with the utmost respect even in male dominated areas of business. It never held me back. What I despise are some feminists who actually believe women are better than men. I am acknowledging here the many men who don't fall into the category of thinking women are geisha girls still, but do treat them as absolute equals. There are many of them. The other idiots need a good handbagging. Great topic to write about sette and you have done that with skill.
Your poem is the perfect theme song to go with the way women are feeling all over the USA as we watch this Supreme Court Justice nomination play out with allegations of sexual abuse . . . have we not progressed an inch since the early 90's & that "other" SCOTUS pick that's still tainted? Sometimes I want to sing this song, but I'm glad to be old & sitting on the sidelines now, watching the younger generations rise up & continue fighting these battles that go on & on, trying to put people in limiting boxes! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
and I for one believe ya
I certainly have no problem regarding members of the opposite sex as my equal, indeed, I have known many who I have considered far superior......... there now, be sure to know I am in your corner..... Neville
At least equality! Having two daughters, I want nothing but the best for them.
I want them to be able to go as far as their abilities can take them. Like you, I
can't believe that women have allowed our current "leaders" to attempt to shunt
them back to the subservient roles they had in the past.
Historically women have had tremendous roles, but it seems that most history books
have been written by men. Granted Cleopatra, Catherine the Great, Queen Elizabeth I
Madame Curie, Harriet Tubman were all exceptions. How many more women would have made major
contributions if they had had the chance?
I truly hope that, finally, women are stirred up enough to shake up the establishment
and win their rightful place in our society.
Take care - Dave

A new world. Ain't a right one yet. New leadership set back equal right 50 years. I liked the energy of the poem and your words need to be. I do like the million women marches. Make the leader know. Women won't be second rate citizens. Powerful and worthwhile poem shared my friend.

Yes! I find strength and conviction in the way you deliver your emotion through this poem. It makes it a relevant since the advent feminism and #metoo campain. I love that I completely agree with all your words :)
