Plato believed in the tripartite soul

Wherein men is composed of mind, spirit and body.

In death, there is the union of these three forces.

Therefore reflection on death is vital.

Spinoza believed that death is nothing,

That there should be less thinking about it.

Ludwig Wittgenstein believed that death is not

An experience in life but just a process that

Every person has to go through.

According to Schweitzer, everything is a mystery,

Either we are alive or not alive.

Heidegger’s Dasein speaks about death is just a

Phenomenon one goes through to reach the state of being.

Jasper’s Existenz speaks about death as either an

Inevitable condition of living or just encumbered

In a situation.

Aristotle believe that in death,

There is the union of the body and soul.

Catholics believe that death is the end

And waiting for the final judgment.

Hindus believe in reincarnation or rebirth

To achieve the brahman state

Moslems believe that there is life after death,

So Koran is an important tool for reflection.

Buddhists believe that there is life after death,

To achieve nirvana, a person has to meditate

And reflect on wrong doings.

Whatever,

The philosophical or theological beliefs about Death.

No matter how many arguments presented,

Only one truth remains.

Death is the end of our stay here on earth.

And that is on the physical realm,

Only our body will be separated,

It will decay in time,

But the soul of being human,

Will always remain eternally

With or without reincarnation.

It will always be infinite.

With the time spared

For each one of us,

We should not fear death

But rather accept its purpose

To us and our being.

You have really researched this out sette, so this is a very informative write for me. The only thing we can be sure of is that we will all die. What happens next, no one can say. We will all have our own individual take on it. Excellent poetry

you are welcome
Im not in any way spiritual, but if I had to choose, I would opt for the infinity og the soul as you stated. I have no particular insight, other than hearing what others have to say on the subject, so my guess would be along the lines of the soul being the essence of us, which is uniquely ours, yet connected in a way no one has yet comprehended. Some things may well never be known, but it shouldn't stop us looking for the answer.
Some think the soul and the mind are the same thing, where others believe there is no such thing. The nearest I have come to agreeing on a definitive answer was speaking to some Scandinavians, who simply asked what I thought death was. I thought I thought nothing, but realised I thought of infinite blackness, which is something, so cant be nothing. Then they told me what they thought it was. They asked if I remembered befo
re I was born, which of course I couldnt. They said "exactly, thats what death is. I had to give them credit for making that thought so simple.
We all have the freedom of life and the freedom to choose our beliefs, which to me spunds like it is for the best that we may never know if we are wrong.
A very thoight provoking wri
te my friend.

that is so true we have to believe in ourselves first before anything else
I absolutely love this!
As a person who’s witnessed the passing of so many loved ones.
And I’m holding the hand of my 83 year old mother in law as death approaches her door.
I find comfort within your words.
I’m very grateful to you for sharing this extremely inspiring concept of deaths.
Thank you!
Resa. :)
