Who I Am

Not everyone likes themselves, but we're supposed to. There are some things about myself that I don't like at all. I made my worst traits into a poem.

I can't help it it's who I am,

but it's something I don't like. 

You're supposed to like who you are,

but there are things we just don't. 

I need to get some self confidence,

or I'm never gonna get anywhere. 

I know I have it inside of me,

but I can't seem to find it. 

Just that one simple push would do it,

but who's gonna give it? 

There are so many opportunities, 

but they've all passed by. 

Say thanks to me being shy, 

to go up on stage and sing. 

To tell the guy I like how I feel,

to make a funny joke in class. 

I could do all of those wonderful things,

if only I had the self confidence. 

But who's gonna give me that push, 

when that's all I need. 

I can't help it's who I am,

aren't we all supposed to love ourselves? 

No, not always unfortunately.

Karina you would not have written this "true" piece if you had no confidence inside.....It is there ....it is hidden...not having confidence is ok.....you just must not let it prevent you from blosoming....in spite of the lack of confidence.....still do what you are supposed to do.....do not allow it to stop you....courage
