One Day

One Day

A Poem by Bob Sherunkle
"

This is about everything and anything

"
Defeated once more,another battle lost.
I hang my weary head in shame and count the cost.
I cannot go on in the direction I'm taking.
my life fades away, this is mine,my making.
My tears sting my face,my heart is broken,
my world falls apart, after they've spoken
I count my failings on fingers and toes,
and remember the names of my long lost foes.
One day I will be king, proud and daring,
up until then,I continue without caring.

When we're shattered in pieces, we just pick up everything else of what's left of us and go on. So until then, go on and continue! This poem makes me cheer you on. Great write, Bob. :)

Very sad, a curious reflection on self. A well-written poem.

What goes around comes around haha! Very well written piece that is pessimistic, yet optimistic at the same time. Good Job!

You're welcome man
It's like everything will be okay, this piece is a reassuring one, that one day, our time will come, we just do what we love to do without caring for the negative connotation of our mind and others. Very nice sir.

Thanks Raymond,much appreciated
Life can be not just a battle, but war. The angst in this is palpable. I know all too well, that the taking of ownership of a problem in that second verse, is the first step of a turn-around. Meaning clearly conveyed. Excellent work!

Hey Jay,Many thanks
This is fantastic Bob! Great rhyming, and the story of a perpetually beaten soul accepting his submission is just crushing. Excellent! :)
