The Three

The Three

A Poem by Bonnie Paige

I asked the Lord to look down on me, as I remember.

I ask the Lord to remember the pain of the three.

One awoke in me newness to my life, one completely devoured the whole of me, but

one took the time to raise me up from my darkness.

I asked of one, for my breath back because of his beauty.

I asked of the other, for my pride back, I am only human and loved too deeply.

I asked of the last, for nothing more than my peace to move away from the edge.

They knew not the deepest of love they left so far behind, while my life flowed gently

into the path of reclusion.  Alive in me lived echoes of their immortal immortality that none could challenge or compare.

I asked the Lord to remember my struggle, and see the human me that lived beyond the

fool, as I dreamed the dream of life in steady harmonic visions. This being all that I am.

I asked the Lord to remember that goodbye which placed my hand on heart, at his last

salute.

I asked the Lord to remember the hurting, questioning, must I do the right thing?  It tore

my world apart.  I lived but was denied.

I asked the Lord to remember,  I tormented in my struggle to find a better me as

Phantom D closed the path to his door.

Incredibly moving poem. You combined hope, faith, healing in a manner so difficult to do but you did it very, very well. Let your faith be true Bonnie, amazing work. Please keep writing and creating!

Thank you Wordman. It seems I can only love those who have little and no regard for me. A surgeon, and two pilots who's egos can never be moved by poetry. I guess words I long to hear can only flow from those who can feel and understand the reasons for poems

Thank you Nipplegrinder, This is from life it's self. All three molded my heart to the way it is today.

This is stunning. Everything about this is true, and real.

I was touched by the honesty of your words - questioning happenstances is a human reaction to negitive life events! I do believe that 'at the right time' answers will be revealed... Bless you; a poignant write.
