Just A Kiss

Just A Kiss

A Poem by BrightEyes

Breaking the chains of the past
Forging the paths of the future
Unlocking the gateway of passion
Testing the waters of love
Two lips touch, taste, tease
Releasing waves to break upon the shore
Bracing for the next deluge
Thunderous emotions intensify
Aching need spirals within, tightly coiled
Two tongues delve, dance, delight
Extinction of thought, replete with wonder
Heartbeats quicken, unite in time
Existing solely within this moment
Immeasurable what is offered and received
With just a kiss

In that first kiss, all the connections made, fall away, are reformed, no spark felt from the touch of fingertips can match, that shock, the sheer jolt, felt in that first kiss. In that first kiss, all that might ever be is laid out before us, time stops, as time quickens, the future and all it holds, enfolds us, in that moment, that lasts forever, yet never seems to last long enough... but that first kiss, leads to the second kiss, and in that second kiss, footsteps upon tomorrow, powered by that amazing energy found in the first kiss, are set in motion...

Nothing like the warmth, fire of a kiss.

It's been a long, long time since a first kiss. Maybe I imagined there ever was one . . . this was wonderful!
