Soldier

Soldier

A Poem by B.E. Gonzales
"

I offer this poem to Corazon "Cory" Aquino, an icon of democracy in the Philippines. I wrote this poem the day she died. May her legacy of non-violence and peace continue forth.

"

She fought without a gun or armor

Her stance, brave and valor

True was her courage and determination

Freedom was her intention

She fought without a sword or shield

Yet, she fought bravely in the battlefield

She fought without bloodshed

The mouth of Liberty was fed

The enemy would not take pity

She knew they would not have mercy

Yet her bravery never faded

Her heart, never filled with hatred

She was a wonderful and beautiful woman. She is missed. I hope her view on freedom and end to violence stay alive with her memory. Few men and woman of peace. We need more men/woman who desire friendship. Guns don't bring freedom. A excellent poem and memory of a great woman.
