Night of Faeries

Night of Faeries

A Poem by Mike Winegar

Previous Version
This is a previous version of Night of Faeries.

Evening falls across the heather
And the stars come out to dance.
The faerie folk come to life
And fill the night with their lyrical chants.

The mists on the moors swirl and caper about,
Taking rock and tree to embrace.
The faerie folk make merry and dance about
'Neath the silver of the moon's face.

Though I can say there are a view poetic things that I disagree with, I feel this poem is extremely solid. While I'm not sure there's actually a point, the imagery itself is quite enjoyable. If we made a museum of words-as-art, this would be one of the main attractions. What it lacks in purpose it makes up in beauty.

A very Irish, Nordic write! I enjoyed it's rhyme and it's story; it's lilt! It is best to speak of these things, only at night. A beautiful write!!

This is an enchantment come to life in darkness and dancing... I walk to a meadow at moon's light and always keep my eyes open for the glimmers. Beautifully voiced.

Let's sneak outside and dance with the faerie folk! Oh I do love this, it made me giggle and want to dance in the moonlight... yep.. that's a compliment! Keep writing and I will keep reading!

you completed it well...like im in the country side-perhaps during victorian period-monochrome background-and then the meadow...farm...heaven nestled away from modern world..happiness...magic...

beautifully exquisite poem!

Really good! Earthy, folksy and fantasy rolled into one.

I enjoy writing and drawing as a means of expression and introspection. I like to imagine an image or setting and either write about it or draw a picture of it, usually while listening to music. .. more..
