Night of Faeries

Night of Faeries

A Poem by Mike Winegar

An ongoing work in progress.

Previous Version
This is a previous version of Night of Faeries.

Evening falls across the heather
And the stars come out to dance.
The faerie folk come to life
And fill the night with their lyrical chants.

The mists on the moors swirl and caper about,
Taking rock and tree to embrace.
The faerie folk make merry and dance about
'Neath the silver of the moon's face.

Featured Review

Though I can say there are a view poetic things that I disagree with, I feel this poem is extremely solid. While I'm not sure there's actually a point, the imagery itself is quite enjoyable. If we made a museum of words-as-art, this would be one of the main attractions. What it lacks in purpose it makes up in beauty.

I can see where you could easily add to this poem, and I know it's a work in progress. So I will say you have a lot of potential here. Be sure to send over an RR with any revisions made. Nice job! Muse

Sometimes one word is all you need to describe such a beautiful piece of work. Mystical. I look forward to reading the rest!

Technically good piece of work with good flow and structure. Content and theme I'm afraid don't do faeries accurate depiction... but I'm on old cynic. It works well as a romantic poem though. Be interesting to see it develop.
