Yesterday's shadows

Yesterday's shadows

A Poem by Carissa Marie

He wipes the tears the yesterday has done,
And prepares for the coming of the morning.
His eyes shines bright with delight,
At the thought of a new beginning.
Gone were the days of black and white,
Replaced by the promise of tomorrow.
And yet as he stood,
Staring at her face,
It was not her that he sees
But the unfulfilled promises that broke her soul.
