Incomprehensible joy

Incomprehensible joy

A Poem by Caroline B A Maguire
"

Jesus knew the worst ...and yet could see the joy in life ...how?!

"
Rejoice! Jesus said
Before he was crucified?
How could He?
When did He first know
I wonder
That the cross was to be His dismal fate
As a child of 12 perhaps ?
A teenager?
When did He realize that the fate of humanity
Lay on His shoulders?
Incomprehensible to me
That he could rejoice
Knowing what He did
That the Father would put such a burden on His humanness
For here He was like us, frail, weak, a mere man
Only after His death did He take on His Diety I believe
So he faced His cross daily
Knowing.
Oh the suffering He must have felt
Imagine...
Incomprehensible to me
Because of me
To allow Him to say to me
Rejoice Caroline!
Rejoice...
