Galleons

Galleons

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

Apologies for typo - using my tiny phone screen, on holiday

"

in glorious sun
an armada of gold leaves
glide in grace downstream

galleons sailing
in full majestic splendour
sunset waits in awe

Autumn leaves floating down a stream. How often we used to stand on a little footbridge watching them whilst walking the dog. Now it is an industrial estate. Ships that pass in the night, like so much plundered rural beauty. Your poem brought back those memories,Chris.

what a seemingly perfect, poetic picture you have painted & left here for us .. faultless & flawless & more than worthy of the smile on my face forming as I recall every leaf & word .. Neville :)

Short, succinct, and beautiful imagery. Even with so few lines, you manage to create such amazing descriptions. Great poem, Chris!

What a luscious image Chris. Interestingly it is a symptom of my bipolar manic episodes that i start to use the word 'like' a lot and find links and metaphors coming unbidden. Probably why so many great writers were manic. Galleons and golden leaves is a very strong picture. A wee typo - amarda should be armada.
Regards.

Well done Chris. The use of alliteration certainly sets this piece off. One thing 'Amarda"? Should that be Armada?
