Wind Farms and Sunsets

Wind Farms and Sunsets

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(wind farms get bad press, but I love them)

"
A setting sun creates a splash,
on Roan beach the turbines turn.
Each blade salutes a crimson sky,
we stand and watch the evening burn

as threads of gold are interspersed
with bloodied cloud, deep clotted red
and stretched across the blackened sand
are pools which show salt water's bled.

Let time stand still, take in this scene,
too soon this gift that's given us
will fade and leave us in the shade,
in silence gone with little fuss.

You took there my friend, such way You have with words, I admire Your talent with description, because it's simple and beautiful the same time, reaching to our hearts with a gentle sense, Your last verse with the shade of warm wistfulness added a magical touch.

Thank You dear Chris for sharing agsin Your bliss with us.

You write so much like an artist paints his/her emotions and imagination across a canvas. Tis remarkable how you've just taken me to a place and shown me what it is, shared your observation and touched on your reactions to it. Even more importantly, first line, second stanza, you' shown how you treasure the feelings left behind. To do that is such a magical skill. I've just sighed, content, Chris. Beautfiul. x

Oh Yes I can see the turbine blades turning
Lashing crimson to match the sky

Stand and take in the scene
Before the night sky darkens

Your scene is gone
Yet still the blades they turn on
