Where Shadows Dance

Where Shadows Dance

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

In appreciation of Robbie, my grandson

"
pay no heed to the miseries
in this woeful world if you wish
your happiness to fly as high
as a kite in windy weather

for happiness comes in tiny
parcels, little gifts that can make
your heart skip for joy and your
soul leap silently skywards

thank you Robbie for making
my day, for taking away the grey
doldrums that unexpectedly
barge their head around doors

those endless cups of camomile tea
flowers and all the fine scented
candles that ignite to throw fragrant
light in dark corners

how well that kindness shows its
face to me, equally how well polished
is that gleam of gold that streams
permanently through your dna

And Robbie.... When you grow up and have kids of your own and tell your gran that she's gonna be a great gran, if you say immediately and without pause that she's always been a great gran, I guarentee you she'll leave everything to yiu in her will 😀
Ps... Always eat your veg and take your hand out of there! 😀

Spending time with a grandchild and seeing the world through his/her eyes makes a person forget about the stress and worry of life. There is nothing quite as wonderful. No mood elevator as sweet. The love you have for Robbie is HUGE in this poem. Someday, he will cherish this poem. Lydi**

Although I have no grandchildren, I've been exposed to the love a grandparent has for their grandchildren. I know they would die for them. They're a gift to be cherished for life. You're very lucky - and blessed.

I guess there is nothing like the innocence of a child to bring light into life when all we see is dark corners and grey. Their exuberance and curiosity is infectious and it allows us to forget our woes and smile again. This is the kind of cheerfulness i get from my dogs when i return home to Lyon. Their endless energy and mischievous streaks always makes me happy. This is a lovely ode for your grandson, Christine. One to cherish in these darker days.

Wonderfully expressed, each moment of life is to be savored. Little gifts and blessings come in small ways to always be treasured. That what I see in your words.

Real love comes from the hearts of those who've been given it.. I think is more or less the quote.. However the word lie, they seem to be so appropriate for your beautiful Robbie. if only there were more..
