I Wish Sometimes I Knew No Words

I Wish Sometimes I Knew No Words

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Then I could never hurt you...

"

I wish sometimes I knew no words

Then I could never hurt you…

Or why can’t I just be like

Christopher Robin to Pooh?

Saying things that give a lift

And are in this world so long overdue?

If you could only see inside my heart

That those words are this fool’s rue…

Perhaps you’d see the deeper words

All those never misconstrued…

I wish sometimes I knew no words…

Only showed each day howI love you…

Author's Note

An owl on the moon
I'm learning, but I still say stupid stuff and hurt people I care about... Wish I was more like Christopher Robin... "Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." - Christopher Robin to Pooh

There is something mysterious about this piece of writing... its essence is soft, sad, and warm; oh, how we always seem to speak words that weren't meant to be spoken! I know that feeling, and I believe it is beautifully woven in this piece. Bravo, my friend.

We are human beings seeking the divine... it is a dichotomy difficult to overcome. I heard once, don't remember where, that the most innately difficult thing we ever do is try to communicate with each other. Invariably, what we say and mean will be misunderstood by the recipient. Better than being "nice" is being fair, honest, and generous. Which you are, greatly, each one of those noble things.

There's a sad softness in this poem, a vunerablity that makes my heart ache. Words can be misunderstood, even when we say them with the best intentions in mind. But mistakes can be rectified, simply by saying "I'm sorry" Or "I care about you" I, personally, think you are a master of words and this poem displays that so completely.

Long after I have finished reading this poem that sad indescribable feeling still lingers. Words are blessing as well as a curse. But then they are all we have. Beautiful poem Craig.

Can't imagine you being mean to anyone!!! But yes sometimes tact leaves us and we put our feet firmly in our mouths! Can't help but love Winnie the Pooh!

Christopher must have had a wonderful role model in a father or mother or both that helped him be the kind of person he was..We all say and do things at times that we wish that we had not and hope to do and be better then still fall short but over time we get better and better if that is our goal..I am glad that you chose this topic and love the presentation of the idea..I am glad that I chose this one to read this afternoon...I was delighted that you could relate to my work about the cat at the birdbath..Sunflower...

aw, how sweet n sincere.
we all mess up (we're human).
if we are sincerely trying to better
than that, then we feel hurt and guilty
inside as soon as some crazy things slips our tongue.
if we'd never say anything off color, then we'd never
have the pleasure of making up! (a bright side?)
luckily we have the ability to do something very
sweet to take the edge off hurt.
it wasn't the first, won't be the last, but maybe
a longer period of time in between hurts.

The feel of this is very sad, but there are so many other emotions coming through. I know I wish I knew how to keep my mouth shut...great piece.

It is a very simple but a very deep write...All of us feel that way at some point in our lives.. No matter how hard you try, you'll end up hurting people with your words.. This poem reiterates that fact in extremely gentle and lucid terms, it has sorrow but not frustration and it has wishful thinking. It is sincere and soulful...elegantly penned...

This is utterly and blissfully romantic which speaks a loving and caring

attitude expressed so tenderly,I always say the "show me don't tell me how

much you love and care " still works best~ actions speak louder than words~

Well DonE!! Craig
