The Dream of Mistakes

The Dream of Mistakes

A Poem by Mike Mounts
"

A poem telling of dwelling on the past and mistakes I have made, and seeing how I have changed and am not the same.

"
Walking through the field of years gone by
My eyes look upon so many faces of yesterday
My heart leaps and flutters as it feels joy and pain
Remembering the flames of truth and lies

I look into the reflecting glass and see eyes not my own
Changed from the years of callus hearts
Tears run down my face with no joy in sight
I watch my flesh melt from my bag of bones

I open my mouth to scream, but no sound is heard
My worm infested brain cries out, can this be undone
A ringing awakens my ears as my eyes open wide
A dream this has been, because my heart has been changed by the Word.
