How We Dance

How We Dance

A Poem by clairvoyantmars

Alone in my distant longing
The pitiful air I'm donning
I close my eyes and wonder
In loneliness I ponder
How it feels to dance with you

Maybe one night at evening
Love, this I'm just foreseeing,
We'll walk towards the dance floor
The world around is no more
What does it feel to dance with you?

Will you put your arms around my waist
And cradle me in safe embrace?
Will we gaze upon each others eyes
And speak in only soft replies?
Oh, I want to dance with you.

Will we be so close together
Like the last we saw each other?
And between the soft sweet kisses,
Steady breaths and stolen glances
When will I first dance with you?

At gentle pace you'll guide me
And leave the past behind me
The world is just two people
Magical, unbelievable
Is this how it feels to dance with you?

And to grasp the music's last note
I'll kiss you and tighten my hold
You'll ask: "Anything the matter?"
And in your ear I will whisper:
"I know how it feels to dance with you."

When the heart sings and dances
around this feeling it seems like
nothing else in the world matters.
Nicely done....

Very good work here! I like the cadence had rhythm that it had to it, very song-like, and the repetition if "dance with you" used in slightly different statements added another good element to the piece! Well done

A beautiful and positive poem of love. I like the gentle emotion and desire in your words. Two people and music. Dancing allowed the spirit to run free and joyful. I like the ending to the outstanding poem.

the recurring images are effective, as well as the structure..

enjoy the thought of good times before you have them....enjoy the good times while you have them.

this is really good. your use of meter and rhyme are excellent. it also doesn't have that awkward over-the-top love poem feel and is yet extraordinarily deep and romantic. bravo, i'll be reading more of your stuff in the future.
