Loving You

Loving You

A Poem by Meghan

Loving you was lonely

Loving you was silent

Loving you was realizing I give too much to the wrong people

Loving you was never being myself again

Loving you was a slow suicide

Loving you was becoming skin and bone

Loving you was bruises I couldn't explain

Loving you was never saying so

Loving you wasn't love at all

Loving you was hating myself

In each verse, the pain engenders the basic clinging actions to what really steers us from such chaos when we pick it willingly. The engagement of love in battle and the metaphors are very potent yet powerful serves that the speaker is bruised and done with love or a special kind of love. Love the lines " Loving you was a slow suicide

Loving you was becoming skin and bone

Loving you was bruises I couldn't explain

Loving you was never saying so

Loving you wasn't love at all

Loving you was hating myself." Keep writing beautifully penned and I much enjoyed sincerely your friend in writing and life

This one is thought-full and has a unique perspective.

Well expressed (though a sad context). I think that the repitition aspect ("Loving you...") is a great device and that you did not use it to excess. I liked the piece!

The last two lines pull everything into place and gives you something to ponder

Love is chaos falling in beautiful ways and sometimes we can run or fall in love but in the end it was worth it. Love is an angel that feel in love with a demon. I felt your passing eyes in a field of not knowing where to go or what to do, what to love in this universe. To say along the broken road we run into things that break our hearts and it heals again. But I wonder how many times can a heart heal when broken million of times? But you realize in the end heartbreaks lead you to something better and carrying with you scars and beautiful lesson of this universe we live in. What I found in your poetic words.

Here's a poem that was written by - E.H , your poem reminded me of this one I read recently

" She was a silent fighter,
With a demon in her lung,
That stole her breaths right from her,
Before they'd hardly passed her tongue.
He was a silent frighter,
Who was always taught to share,
And held his breath when he was with her,
Just so she could have his air."

Keep writing and knowing you are the universe , look inside and you will find everything you need. Sincerely your friend in poetry and life.
