Everything I Wish I'd Said

Summer nights flew by in a flash

The best one's spent with friends

Soon we'll all be gone and I'll be wearing red

This is every single thing I wish I'd said.

I love you. I mean that

more than I let on. Your my best friend,

my first kiss, someone I can count on.

And those two months of torture, it really bothered me

that you never even mentioned what it meant to me.

But it's over, I'm past that. I just thought you should know

And theres just one thing left before I go;

I was the best you'll ever get.

That's something you should never forget.

That was everything I wish I'd said.

It may not be much, but i'm glad it's off my chest.

I'm really going to miss you the most of all.

Man, all those nights we spent laughing in the hall

of my house. Running around town. Getting chased by police.

I don't think you understand how much you bring out the best in me.

And as I said I love you and will always be your friend.

That is absolutely everything I wish I had said.

What a sad poem. It truly spoke of romance that is kept hidden. Is this true? I like how courageous the person to face his/her best friend even if the feelings are secretive. Good writing! I hope I can see more of this.
