Nothing

Nothing

A Poem by The Last Philospher

It's nothing but irrational:
The fear of Death.
To be afraid of absolutely nothing,
The least terrifying thing of all.

This sensation,
The absolute mystery.
Nothing other than emptiness,
No tomorrow nor history.

Similar to now,
And this emptiness deep inside,
Stuck for what seems like forever.
Trying to make it end but not knowing how.

An eternity
of this,
The most terrifying thing of all.

and with that we will be simply nothing on the next life on the next stage and on the next journey

We're always afraid of the unknown, because we don't know what will hit us later on, but I guess you're right, death is an irrational fear when it is compared to feeling dead and empty all the time.
This is quite a thought provoking poem, keep writing ~ :)

I don't find nothing too horrified. If there is nothing there is always possible from this nothing make something, fill up empty space with your creativity. If you talk about death when after death is nothing. That's just pure speculation. I am always happy to get new experience at my life. If after death is nothing my be I can be best thing what can happen to you. In this life we experience nothing stay on forever and maybe nothing will also change so we don't know how will be. Great poem for thinking dear philosopher.

Yes I agree it is irrational to fear death, to fear nothingness, but I do and I would imagine most people do. However, what you describe in your third stanza, I would fear more. I liked your poem. It is early morning here, and it got my brain into gear. Thank you.
