The Soul (Unbinding)

The Soul (Unbinding)

A Poem by Constance-Outspoken
"

A poem for the "poetry and lyrical challenge" group, where we were given the title "The Soul" and the theme "inner peace".

"
Silver thread, needle of the eye,
power encumbered by little mass,
uncharted terrain we shall canvass
wholly when in dormancy we lie

Hunger pains no bread may stave
fester within its deepest caches;
self-lie crumbles to windblown ashes:
we see each man to his own's a slave

Peace then rests within its control--
a force with no tangible form on display--
we must comprehend how wee ones play
to recall this higher conquest of the soul

There is a rich depth to your writing, bringing alive the most profound feelings of vast thoughts and freedoms. Imagery of hunger that cannot be satisfied... the bondage of the spirit... and then a peace we can find in the playfulness of a child... So beautiful...

The imagery is painted perfectly. This poem has a beauty all it's own. I love the last two lines the most. Thank you for posting. I love reading your poetry.

This is really beautiful.
I haven't started writing my piece for the group yet, but you've set the bar high. :)
The images that came to my mind while reading this were fascinating.
Excellent write.
