Because of Love

Because of Love

A Poem by corey bullock

In the park where i dwell

I met a girl i love so well

she told me that she loved me

And now she wants to set me free

I saw a strange boy apon her knee

Told him things she never told me

I went home to cry on my bed

and not a word to mom i said

dad came home late that night

he searched for me from left to right

and on my room he suddenly broke

he saw me hanging on a rope

and on my desk a note was found

dig my grave dig it deep

with marble stones from head to feet

and on my head please put a dove

to show the world i died for love

Dear Corey,

thank you for submitting this.

We writers use poetry or any other forms of writing to explore issues of our lives and our times, and on occasion to bare our most deepest emotions. I hope that you are o.k. and that this poem is not a suicidal cry for help. If it is, consider yourself heard, and feel free to contact me if you so desire.

As for the poem, I like that you use simple, no-fuss language. I found that the last two verses flowed better than the first two. Obviously, they were very surprising and dramatic. The last two lines were glorious.

Please keep up the good work!
