Life Leaks In

Life Leaks In

A Poem by Invisible Ink
"

Life leaks in through the cracks...

"
Life leaks in
through the cracks,
even through locked door
with no keyhole.
After the swells and swallows
of that immense ocean,
that saltwater-in-mouth feeling,
groping one hand in front of the other,
tongue-tied, sounds only of breathing
a catch of ragged air
out of darkness,
and life leaks in still,
through the molecules.
After the curtains are drawn,
after the pulse and the beat
of that red tide dim, fade,
in numbness moving
one foot in front of the other,
mumbling words without meaning,
bouncing off walls,
vibrating waves collide.
Life leaks in.
