Hope

Hope wraps her arms around you

Even when tragedy walks by

 She comforts you in your darkest hour

When you've hit rock bottom

And are drowning in a sea of sadness

She's just like a lifeguard

Bringing you back to the surface

 When you are absolutely helpless

 Her comforting nature

 Will bring you inner peace

 And the strength to hold on

 She is a loyal friend

Always there

And always on your side

This is cute. Hope is a construct by our brain. Sometimes when the new testament writers represent god as requiring faith of us, they are thinking of faith as one among other things that God (who ever it is) requires of us. Faith is then one among other ‘virtues’. Paul, urges on his readers hope and charity along with faith. Didn't the Catholic Church do this always and till now? I think, you speak here about the universal hope; yet I had the correlation with Christianity. Hope is universal, it's the last thing what remains, when everything else already passed. sweet small meaningful poem.
