VI. Austria

VI. Austria

A Poem by Dana Alsamsam
"

from my series "World Vision" in which I address a poem to every destination I've visited.

"
I discuss my breakfast choice
With the affable Danube,
And run my fingers
Along the edge of the river bank.
My pale palm surfaces
Covered with amaranth petals
Of composers beginnings
(and ends)
I inhale your clouds
With champagne and chocolate,
Breathier than a first kiss,
Into the sygnet of sunset.

"of composers beginnings (and ends)--allusion to Strauss i presume ( and maybe wrongly so)

i felt the smooth movment of this piece, listened to the music while i read the words.
