Do You Remember?

Do You Remember?

A Poem by DarrinReay
"

Not too sure if this is any good, only just wrote it but i hope you enjoy it! :)

"
Do you remember that crying teenager,
And how much hate you had shown?
But you didn't even know,
That there were things going on at home.

Do you remember that pregnant teenager,
Who you called a s**t and w***e?
She never forgot them words,
And now she and her baby's no more.

Do you remember when you used to hit that boy,
And shove him into the dirt?
Did you never stop to think about,
How much it actually hurt?

Everything that you do,
Has an impact on somebody's life,
And words that you say,
Can hurt more than a sharp knife.

Sometimes the littlest thing,
Can have an impact on their soul,
All they need is someone to be there,
If they trip or slip or fall.

So stop the bullying,
And even stop the racism,
Stop what you are saying,
And stop with the criticism.

This is another favourite of mine, I really like this message in this.
And how people can be damaged over trivial things needs to be noticed more,
Sometimes all people need to do is just be more careful with their words.
I like this, I really like this.
Big ups'

I've been seeing more and more of these pieces and have begun to wonder, if SO many people want to work to stop bullying... why is it still such a widespread issue? And then I see the same people making fun of the kid with Down Syndrome across the street and understand. I'm not in anyway accusing you of such, mostly I'm just rambling because I'm tired... heh

Anyways, I did enjoy the poem. The rhymes were pretty solid and the message was clear. Well done. :)

well said sir.....I have come across many bullies in my time...They were all very intimidating yet also insecure....Together we could eradicate this awful disease

Such a strong message. Bullying seems to be so common these days and people don't pay as much attention to how damaging it is anymore. They need to though, and this poem is kind of a reminder of that. Well done. I'll definitely be reading this again and again. x
