A Girl Over There

A Girl Over There

A Poem by DarrinReay
"

This is for all those who have sadly taken their lives.

"
There is a girl right over there,
With blue eyes and dirty blond hair,
Who sees pain every single day,
And she does everything to take it away.

She ties the rope and she ties it tight,
But then she feels this isn't right,
And she drops to the floor crying,
And can't stop no matter how hard she's trying.

Then again that girl over there,
With blue eyes and dirty blond hair,
Sees pain every single day,
And she does everything to take it away.

She swallows pills and drinks the water,
But luckily there was someone who caught her,
She was rushed to hospital straight away,
And then she lived to see another day.

But then the girl that is over there,
Who has blue eyes and dirty blond hair,
Still sees the pain every single day,
And does everything to take it away.

She layed down on the train track,
And hoped that this is when her life would go black,
But she was found and took straight home,
To the very hurt that she had always known.

Then the girl that is over there,
Who has blue eyes and dirty blond hair,
Still sees the pain every single day,
And does everything to take it away.

She grabbed the gun and pulled the trigger,
Thinking that nobody would miss her,
But her family they sat and cried,
And couldn't stop even though they tried,
And now she doesn't feel the pain twenty-four seven,
Cause she's found peace as an angel in heaven.

Now that girl that was stood over there,
Who had blue eyes and dirty blond hair,
No longer sees the pain every single day,
Cause she found a way to make it go away.

Suicide is always such a tragic situation for someone to put themselves in...to think that is the only option to end their pain and to make themselves feel better. Every problem is a temporary problem, in which people begin to think too much and make it seem like a much bigger problem. It's always hard to see someone hurting, especially if it's someone close to you...but they should know there is always someone who is there for them and that people will miss them if they were to end their lives.

This made me cry.. It's really beautiful, but really sad. The ending is kind of bittersweet, because although her family missed her, she was now in heaven; in a better place, away from all the bad stuff that she was going through in life. People who are depressed enough and who have been through enough bad stuff in life to attempt to take their lives, they never seem to realize how much their loved ones will miss them. It's a sad and terrible situation, when you start feeling like everyone is against you, you forget about the important people; the people who matter most, the ones who love and care about you, and who wouldn't want you to take your own life. beautiful job with this.

This is such a sad, depressing piece and definitely brings back memories of one of my best friends. I wish I could reach out to people like this and give them hope, because no one deserves pain and struggling like this to cause them to end their own life. It just isn't fair. I try my best everyday to reach out and be a help to people, even just smiling to brighten someone's day.
Anyway, the repeating stanza had a great part in this piece and I think it added to it very well. you wrote it well and it flowed nicely. Great job overall with the whole poem.

I really love this. It flows nicely, and I love that you repeat the same few lines and turn the entire piece around at the end. I look forward to reading more of your work!
