Serves Me WriteA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Not what it seems. Under the glare of an August noon I was content walking barefooted Upon the asphalt. I had been doing it long enough That I couldn’t feel the blisters Forming on my feet. Then the day came when you took my hand Guiding me to the ocean Till the cool waves licked my toes Allowing me to feel again. It was a sensation I got use to, Even enjoyed. Then one day I cut my heel And broke a seashell Causing me to realize The safety in blistered feet. So back to pounding the pavement With a sense of relief of only stepping on Glass already shattered. The day then came when I tripped On a loose brick breaking my toe And feeling real pain. I returned to the shores, The ocean chill between my toes Felt in vain Cause being in heaven Without my angel The current might as well drag me Into the abyss of a watery hell Where I can drown in my own stupidity. © 2012 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Author's Note
