Fly Raven Fly

Fly Raven Fly

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

may this be my masterpiece misinterpreted by the masses.

"

Fly raven fly

Above the clouds of misperception

That reigns over the misguided.

Never change your color

In order to change the world’s

Interpretation of your intent

With Poe’s heart.

You hide in the dark

Like meaning in a mad poet’s verse,

That don’t make you

The grim reaper stalking a lost soul

In the dead of night.

Fly raven fly

Into the harshness of judgmental light

So your shadow can reveal

The grace of your wings

Not seen in the darkness of the weak minded.

Shall your piercing eyes

Forever be the guide

For the mentally blind.

Fly raven fly

For nevermore shall you be grounded

By the weight of misinterpreted quotes

From faithless spirits.

May your mysterious strength

Be the inner peace that protects

The headstones of the brokenhearted.

Fly raven fly

So I can continue to believe

That your heartbeat

Is as free as mine.

A powerful poem for the Raven. I like the tone and the energy of the words.
"May your mysterious strength
Be the inner peace that protects
The headstones of the brokenhearted."
The above lines were my favorite. No weakness in the excellent poetry.

Thank you very much sir. I believe in the ravens flight.
"Never change your color
In order to change the world’s". I enjoy reading your philosophy in your works. Fascinating and verisimilitude at its best.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your positive feedback.
This is so powerful Dale. And a masterpiece surely. How deceptive can appearances be. And how faulty the human prejudice and perception. Not to speak of the grace, strenth and wisdom that sometimes lies below a seemingly unattractive face. It reminded me of that line in the Bible about the stone that was rejected only to become the foundation.

Thank you for this beautiful work of art.

WOW knowing you are a fan of Poe your reaction is beautifully touching. So glad you enjoyed it.
Well, it's certainly time somebody said something nice about ravens. Poe gave them a bad rep.

Well I don't think he gave them a bad rap, I think people misunderstood his thinking.

Beautiful, Dale! I like the wisdom embedded in this poem. A courageous soul who has finally decided to be free. I would like to give a more intelligent review but I don't have much time. But this one is going to be shelved in my library. :3
