The Other Side Of Midnight

The Other Side Of Midnight

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

The sun as grown too tired

To brighten the sky,

So it lays its head on a bed

In the west.

The opportunity to ride off

Into the sunset has passed

But the sight we have our eyes set on

Has not disappeared with the light.

For this darkened room

Still has a window we cannot miss,

Cause the moon and stars

Reassure us

That I will see you

On the other side of midnight.

This is lovely. I like how you incorporated the sun setting to the opportunity of wanting to leave with your lover.

Your welcome
I love this for the simple surface message, as well as the deeper ideas that pertain to our journey in life. Yes, the opportunity to ride off into the sunset has passed for some of us (definitely me), but there's still a whole rich world of twinkling stars that shouldn't be missed! *smile* (((HUGS)))

Waiting on the other side.........there are those who are held in this promise, this hope of seeing our loved ones again. I know I am waiting to join many on the other side, including my precious son!
Your words are lovely, and thought provoking. You remind us to keep our gaze on the light in the room that sees the moon and stars that guide us to the other side of midnight.

Thank you Sheila for such a insightful review.
This is a beautiful thought. Waiting for one's love. One thing -- I do believe you meant ride off rather than ride of.
