Just Look At Us If You Need To Believe

Just Look At Us If You Need To Believe

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Within this world

Of sticks and stones

Lying on a bed of nails

Has become not only comfortable

But a sanctuary as well.

Being stabbed in the back

Beats opening scars of the heart

Oh woah are the glories

Without rhyme or feelings

For it is humanity that walks

The razors edge into Armageddon.

Why can’t the devil inside

Be the answer to mercy?

For you cannot know

The magic of the promised land

Until you take the wrong turn.

Forbidden… the power of the myth,

Forgotten… the reason for the lie,

Buried… the hopes of tomorrow,

Spreading… the disease of fear.

For inside this man made kingdom

Nothing can be sacred

Because it has been tainted

By the thoughts of mere humans.

Still the Earth remains

On it’s beaten path,

The magic of the sun

Lets it continue to rise everyday,

And despite crimes against them

Trees still give us CPR.

So maybe it’s time

We bow our heads

To say a prayer

For the power of love

And be thankful for

The grace of God.

Spreading… the disease of fear.-----I loved how you constructed this repetition in builds powerful impact while I was reading it - and I like how you made your contribution how to safe this planet, you did it your way but you "did", and to spread such an awareness is what poets should do. I liked this.

Excellent, Dale!

"For inside this man made kingdom

On it's beaten path,"

No greater truth could have been spoken there. BRAVO!!! I applaud you and your work! : >)

Lots of wisdom and emotions pouring out in this writing.. the type that flows and makes the mind think beyond ourselves. Say a prayer for the power of love... which is so battered these days.. and be thankful for the grace of god.. that so many have fallen from.. that without that goodness this world would be such a horrible place.. many need the belief of something so good and clean to keep them going I loved that short message in here.

Your stanza:

Still the Earth remains
On it's beaten path,
The magic of the sun
Lets it continue to rise everyday,
And despite crimes against them
Trees still give us CPR.

This one can truly be understood and related to by most all.. so much we as people have done to this earth.. yet it still spins, brings forth life..and the means for life. The sun still lights our daily path with every new sunrise.. this is truly inspiring.. it's simple yet so taken for granted! Thank you so much for sharing! =)

Amazing....simply amazing. great poem aout God's love for us, and to look us as people of this earth, all God's creations. I loved every word in this poem. one part I really liked:

For you cannot know
The magic of the promised land
Until you take the wrong turn.

It's true. you cannot know good until you expereined the bad, you learn through mistakes, we all do. but in the end, god's grace is forgiving. his hand is gentle, his love permeates to us. i'm putting this one in my faovrites. thanks dale.
