The Act, The Actor And Director(Me, Myself and I)

The Act, The Actor And Director(Me, Myself and I)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Inspired by "Edge Of Thorns" and "When The Crowds Are Gone", both by Savatage.

"

There is a beautiful garden

Created inside the theater,

A set built

Inside my mind.

Keeping my balance

As I walk between the rows

So I don’t crush

The seeds I’ve sewn

Based on your powers of persuasion.

I’m blinded by the light

That shines on you

Engaged in a solo performance,

Acting on improv

On a stage built for an ensemble…

I directed…

You dictated…

My vision

Becomes your glory

Till the final bow

When you’re graced with bouquets

And I bleed from the thorns.

In the end

When the lights go out

Those roses wilt

But my red stain will remain

For eternity.

A deep and rich analogy, very unusual and striking metaphors Dale. Well thought out with good delivery.
These lines are fabulous;
And I bleed from the thorns.

In the end

When the lights go out

Those roses wilt

But my red stain will remain

For eternity.

might be. And who please inspired you to the idea of your title - The Act, The Actor ..... if not my poem with the title - The Observer, The Observed, The Observation? - You could say "thanks lara", would be a way. Instead you of course would answer, "No... I never have read this poem for I don't read your poetry". The poem is fine, that's something else, even I don't get it - I directed - you dictated - this is contradiction, isn't it but a nice twist.

I had to read a few times. The poem is so good. Last line told the story. Few things are remembered. I like the feel and the ending. A excellent poem. Thank you.

Dale, very deep and moving. I get it. Love the red/rose/blood/thorn motif too.

Bravo! What a creative poem, and all the world is our stage. Take a bow.

Awesome lines love!
A powerful poem, once touched by love, the scar always remains, even when the lights are down!
Awesome!

this is so sad, I hate that the poet bleeds from the thorns in the end,
but love the poem!

This one is filled with sadness and passion. The ends we go to in order to gain that title we call love... I especially love the last lines. Outstanding work of art, Dale.

Great, dark twisted poem. We are all actors in our own lives.
This reminds me of a love gone bad. It seems sometimes we
are blinded by love, and the falsely feelings of another.
