After The Crash

After The Crash

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

In the midst of the wreckage

are scattered pieces of the truth

that can be used to rebuild

the salvation of forgotten lies.

For just as there is beauty in the beast

doubled is the beast within the beauty.

when grace becomes a bitter pill to swallow

you choke on the taste of forgiveness;

the effect may take awhile to set in

but the end result will feel like

a lover’s last kiss before drifting off

into the sweet abyss of eternal dreams.

There broken glass is a million diamonds

and broken hearts are budding roses.

Love this poem. Especially love the last two lines. Keep on penning.

There could be a million meanings to this poem; we each have to find a truth, though here you seem to have somehow found a kind of salvation emerging from a very painful time .. 'There broken glass is a million diamonds and broken hearts are budding roses.'

The title you've given this is very clever .. a shattered relationship really is something difficult and painful to recover from.

(Only negative thought: wondering if you mean 'there = place or 'their' meaning possessive as with dreams in the previous line)

Very stunning images. I think there's a typo "bitter." The flow is very cohesive. Very cool brother!

Dale, the title fits so well. this has touched me and those last two lines are so utterly beautiful that they made me tear. This flows so smoothly with truth.
