Bad Love Gone Good

Bad Love Gone Good

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Standing in the middle of this rainstorm

is like feeling a thousand feathers falling against my skin

when I know heaven is breathing down my neck.

I never knew how good

an angel could be when she goes bad

till I tempted her with the purity of my lust.

Darkened clouds may dampen the earth

but we stay floating on drenched skin

by means of inflated sin.

So let the world drown in this epic storm,

we’ll use it as a chance to swim

into the darkest depths of love.

First off, I love the rainstorm compared to feathers. You really set us up for the whole "bad gone good" theme. I also liked "purity of my lust" because it's kind of a rough contradiction, isn't it? Daring.
The repetition of the clouds and the rainstorm followed by the "inflated sin" just really tie the second half of the poem with the first!
Excellent work, really! I appreciate poetry that focuses on one thing to express a complex idea, rather than one which dresses up with a ton of metaphors and mumbo jumbo.
Whenever I read your work, it's like I imagine you as a once epic song writer/rock star, only put into a different lifestyle :)

this was delightful! the title alone drew me in because the usual twist is the opposite. however good or bad we define the thrill we swim into - it is the depth you describe that makes it all worthwhile.
