Photo To The Soul

Photo To The Soul

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Your eyes will always be

a window to my soul.

For seeing myself through them

I see part of a man I never wanted to be.

Moments of weakness

can make a strong statement

for changes that need to be made.

Looking in the mirror

only shows signs of aging

but in no way reflects

one’s spiritual growth.

So I look at your photograph

as a motivator to understand

my imperfections

and make them into a positive.

I only wish I had the craftsmanship skills

to make a frame for protecting your photo

from tearing or fading,

cause a store bought one

just won’t do.

yes, often we don't like what we see when are reflected in another's eyes...and sometimes we are glad to see the reflection because we want to make ourselves better...

i like being with people who challenge me to be the best person i can be.

and i also like this poem ...lots.

Thank you :)
in my experience, no frame is fitting for the object of our affections. thus, you have spoken ...and quite profoundly and expressively of this in this tender and humble write. i take off my poet's hat to you for capturing the essence of real and enduring love in this wonderful piece of prose. be proud of this write, dear poet!

Thank you very much.
Love it...it is something to behold, the happiness that you see in a love one's eyes is a reflection of what you make them feel.

Thank you.
This is magnificent my friend!! Examination of self, acknowledging weaknesses, and realizing what the most important part of one's life results in a photo that shall ever be in your heart!! I have read many, many of your poems, but this is perhaps my very favorite of them all!! It is certainly going in my favorite file........ah, such sweet, sweet thoughts!!!

Why thank you so much... I am honored knowing it is going into your favorites.
Yes everyone needs someone to hold on to, and to be our source of 'mainspring' as also our haven of emotion.
Wonderful write, deep and thought provoking.
