Colors

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Just a thought that entered my head and wouldn't leave till I put it on paper.

"

If life were black and white

skin tones would still be light or dark,

it just wouldn’t make a difference

if it were night or day.

Imagine if we all bleed black,

not knowing if what were spilled

was blood or ink

leaving a fine line between

the written word and death.

What of a world so white

that details are undefined?

The wolf could blend with the sheep

with little effort of disguise.

Colors don’t separate the world,

they give it character.

It is our perceptions

that decides the fate of their life.

Generations of perceptions get passed down ..

And that is a shame .. it's what lies beneath the colors that defines a heart & soul..

Good and bad comes in a myriad of hues ..

If we look deep beneath the surface, and listen,we will learn to appreciate all the tones of God's work.

Well written .. Jazz

You are absolutely right our perceptions color everything we encounter. Nice use of language and visuals in this.

Thank you very much.
I love the line of bleeding blood or ink and leaving a fine line between the written word and death! That is phenomenal writing! I often believe that I wont be known as a writer except posthumous, and by then the only thing left is the ink I left behind. Thank you for writing and sharing this poem!

Thank you for the review and your thoughts.
Awesome write - I think my personal favorite was the second verse but the final part was stellar too. Colors give the world character

Thank you very much.
A moral and apt write indeed... What would the world be without color? What would we be if we were all the same? I'll tell you, it would be pretty boring. I prefer to see things in technicolor. You always manage to shine a light upon the things that really matter in this world, my friend. Well done.

You got that right... variety is the spice of life.
There you go again. So wise and clever. And what of those that are color blind? Should we envy them? Some days I wonder if it would be better to be blind. We judge so quickly with our eyes. We condemn what is different. But what of a voice? I've heard people talk...entranced by their voice, while not understanding one word. Take that same person and put a turban on them, give them a deformity, would we be too disgusted to ever be inspired?

Thank you very much.
A nicely done poem. Perhaps there are no answers to the questions here. Human kind is too quick to find reasons to hate just about anything.

That is sadly true... thank you,
there would always be a difference, the many would discriminate against the few, there will always be comething that causes an arbitrary division
